Approaching The Finish Line for Cougar Creek Flood Mitigation Project

As Spring arrives in the Bow Valley with much-needed precipitation, we know that flood risk is top of mind for our community. We've resumed our seasonal flood monitoring and are pleased to provide an update on the Cougar Creek project which will increase our community’s resilience to potential future flooding.

The embankment dam is now 85% complete by volume and on track to reach its full height of 34 m by the end of this month.

The project is currently track to be fully complete by Fall 2024.

Construction will continue through the summer, trail closures remain in effect. Please adhere to closures and posted signage for your safety.
